Our Experience

As hiring mangers for the last 10 years working for companies like Microsoft, CareerPath.com (Now CareerBuilder), and a half dozen other established and start up companies, we've interviewed hundreds of prospective candidates, and seen tens-of-thousands of resumes. And we've worked with recruiters, human resource departments, and have used basically all the services designed to match candidates with open positions. One truth has reamained constant for the last 10 years. The job search marketplace is very inefficient. And, most job seekers go about finding work that actually hurt their career. We've taken our experience and boiled it down the best, most effieicnt tactics job seekers can use today.

Inefficient Marketplace

The marketplace for matching candidates and hiring mangers is inefficient. Each advertised job gets more than 600 resumes. When I worked at Microsoft, a single advertised job got more than 2,000 resumes. Advertised jobs account for filling a mere 10% of all jobs. Searching for for work on Monster or any other large career sites will expose you to less than 1% of all jobs currently available right now.

There is little incentive to straigheten out the current state of affiars, because inefficient job searching means more money for everyone, except for the job seeker.

There are some great ideas for straightening out the very fragmented job search industry, but still, it is incumbant upon you, the job seeker to take control finding and landing your next job. This site will show you how to do that efficiently, elegantly, and to the point.
